RE: Year End Wrap-Up

HASTA LA VISTA 2021

So, I --- uhm --- skipped a couple months there with the newsletter.

What can I say, fall ended up being a lil' bit busier and more exciting than expected! But it's been a fantastic and inspiring year - so no complaints on my end :)

What I'm wrapping up (or have) before the holidays;

• The second arc of Stillwater for Skybound Entertainment. This arc ends on a doozy - Chip Zdarsky is killin' it with the script! Stillwater volume two will be available February 9, 2022, and should you like to order it from your local shop, it's Diamond ID: SEP210125

• Put the finishing touches on my 14p story titled "AIR" for the 4th RAID anthology as well as a cover B for the book. Cover A is by the amazing and talented Scott Hepburn. As well, I also laid out and designed the 130-page tome featuring some amazing talent! SUPER excited to share more about this in the new year!

• Speaking of book design, I also finished up the design on To Steal The Sun, a prose novel by S.M.Carter for which RAID Press had a successful Kickstarter in Oct-Nov. Super proud of this.

• My good friend Eric Vedder and I also wrapped up our first season of our Livestream Make SH!T Mondays. The 23 episodes were a super fun ride and we look forward to returning in the new year! The year was filled with other great times - the RAID Gallery (our street-front gallery adjoining RAID) launched several exhibits and had a few events (earn we were able - due to Covid Protocol) to boot. New faces joined RAID, bringing in fresh personalities and exciting new talent! Also, as a studio, we ran a bunch of successful Kickstarters and are eager to double our numbers in the new year! 

Speaking of... 

ABOVE / a character from an upcoming project - if things go well, the comic will be available next summer. I have about 20 pages done - so I'm halfway there!
 

THE YEAR TO COME...

I am SO EXCITED to dive into 2022. I'll be embarking on Stillwater volume 3, but before I even step foot back into that small horrific town of eternal life I have a few other things lined up...

• A 48-page comic that I wish I could tell you more about - all I can say is it's set in 1950's New York and revolves around the jazz scene - and it's a part of a greater series by a phenomenal set of artists! I'll share more when I can!

• A couple great variant comic covers and pin-ups revolving around - oh, y'know - Conan the Barbarian, Kurt Busiek's Arrowsmith, and Lupin The Third! I'll be sharing those when I can.

• and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the re-launch of Kukuburi and the Kickstarter for Kukuburi Volume 1 which I have scheduled for Spring 2022!

Along with all the aforementioned, I'm also taking time in 2022 to write a few things that've been ruminating in my skull for decades with the goal of bringing them to life in 2023.

SO DAMNED EXCITED for the year to come!!!
