RE: Kukuburi, Captain Harlock, & More

ROLLIN' THROUGH A HEATWAVE...

The craziness continues here! Last month I mentioned an 8-page short story I did for Issue 2 of the SKYBOUND X series which commemorates Skybound 10th anniversary. It's one that pulls on your heartstrings, so have some Kleenex on hand!

I'm busily working on the second arc of STILLWATER (issues 7-12) of which I've shared the covers below, though at the same time I've been warming up my KUKUBURI reflexes to dive back in and finish the current arc of the series. I hope to be putting fresh pages up by September, with the intention to wrap things up by spring of 2022. In the meantime, here's a quick KUKUBURI warmup doodle I did during my MAKE SH!T MONDAYS Livestream a couple weeks ago... with more fun sneak peaks in the latest episode!

Last month I also mentioned a variant cover I was doing for SPACE PIRATE CAPTAIN HARLOCK for ABLAZE Publishing. The cover and its adjoining issue have now been officially solicited - so I can share away! being a huge fan of Harlock, this cover was a total joy to do - so I dove in nice and deep.

As I mentioned above - I've been working away on the second story arc of Stillwater. The covers are often the place I can let loose and have a lot of fun - so I thought I'd share the covers for issues 8-12, issue 8 of which has just hit the shelves!
 

MAKE SH!T MONDAYS

My good friend Eric Vedder and I have been having a lot of fun on our weekly Monday Livestreams. To date, we've done 5 episodes with some truly fantastic guests. We go live every Monday on RAID TV from 8-10pm EDT where we enjoy a drink, draw, and shoot the shit with special guests. We've enjoyed the company of such fantastic creators as Dax Gordine, Marcus To, Karl Kerschl, Katie Sawatsky, and as of last night, Shawn Crystal.
