RE: Eisner Nominations & Trying My Hand At Youtube

IN A BIT OF A MONDAZE HERE -

It has been one non-stop crazy month here, and I have so much to share, of which at the same time can't share.

I wrapped up the art for the short STILLWATER story in the 10th anniversary SKYBOUND X series which will appear in (I believe) issue 3. My variant cover for the new Captain Harlock series from Ablaze is finished and with the publisher. All things I can't share.

BUT, here are some of the things I can share...

THE EISNER AWARDS

The 2021 Eisner Nominees were announced and I was completely blindsided to hear that I have been nominated for BEST COVER ARTIST for my work on STILLWATER! Super flattered, and also very very humbled to be mentioned in the same breathe as my fellow (amazing and talented) nominees.

To add a cherry to the already wonderful icing on the cake, STILLWATER, by Chip Zdarsky & myself, was also nominated for BEST CONTINUING SERIES!

SO EXCITING! 

Voting for the awards is being held online using a two-step voting process. The first step is for prospective voters to apply at https://form.jotform.com/211246268258054. After filling out the (very) short form, eligible voters will be invited to go to the ballot and cast their votes. All professionals in the comic book industry are eligible to vote. The deadline for voting is JUNE 30 and the results of which will be announced in July in a virtual ceremony as part of Comic-Con@Home.

FOREST FOLK & ABOMINABLE CHARLES CHRISTOPHER

I wanted to give a shout-out to the RAID PRESS Kickstarter campaign for Dax Gordine's FOREST FOLK which is in its final few days. It's wrapping up this Thursday the 17th at 9pm EDT, so people still have a few days to back the book and get all the achieved and potentially forthcoming stretch goals!  

While the Forest Folk campaign ends, my good friend KARL KERSCHL is finally bringing the third chapter of his beloved, Eisner-Award-winning webcomic series THE ABOMINABLE CHARLES CHRISTOPHER to print via Kickstarter! Be sure to snag this wonderful book ASAP!
 

Seeing these two campaigns blow up has been truly inspriring and really has me excited to launch my KUKUBURI Kickstarter for BOOK ONE this fall... EEP!

MAKE SH!T MONDAYS

So my good friend Eric Vedder and myself are doing a thing. Every Monday on RAID TV from 8-10pm EDT we'll be Livestreaming as we drink, draw, and shoot the shit with a special guest. Please join us for our premier episode of MAKE SH!T MONDAYS tonight at 8pm EDT, with special guest Dax Gordine who is in the final week of his successful FOREST FOLK Kickstarter! Aside from YouTube, the show will also stream to the RAID Facebook Page.

PS/ oh, and this afternoon at 2:45pm EDT RAID PRESS dropped an 9"x12" original FOREST FOLK watercolour painted by lil' old moi in the ADD-ON section of the FOREST FOLK Kickstarter! Funny enough, it's got a very KUKUBURI vibe...
